What the application fee covers
An application fee goes toward verifying your information and running the checks a landlord needs, so here is what it pays for and when it applies.

Verifying your application
The fee covers confirming your identity, income, and rental background through trusted sources, the work that turns your application into a clear, fair answer.
Charged once, set by the landlord
The landlord sets the amount and rules within local law, it is typically charged once at submit, and any cap or receipt requirement is shown before you pay.
What you can do
Review the fee and what it covers on the payment screen before you agree, and keep your confirmation in case you need a record. If you are applying with a co-applicant, check whether each person pays separately, and if you have a question about the amount or a refund, ask the landlord or property manager, since they set the fee terms.

Identity verification for rental applications
Confirming you are who you say you are protects you as much as the landlord, so no one can apply in your name.
Income verification for rental applications
Findigs verifies your income from trusted sources you choose to connect, so a real picture of your earnings stands behind your application.
Rental application document verification
Findigs checks your uploads are genuine and readable, and a flag usually just means a file needs a clearer copy.
